The Association of Islamic Banking and Financial Institutions in Malaysia (AIBIM) was established in 1995 as the Association of Interest-Free Banking Institutions in Malaysia.

AIBIM has 27 member banks, including 12 Local Banks, 5 Development Finance Institutions and 10 Local Joint Stock Foreign Banks. An MoU agreement was signed between TKBB and AIBIM on October 30, 2023 to enhance cooperation and dialogue between participation banks resident in both countries.
