General Council for Islamic Banks and Financial Institutions (CIBAFI)

The General Council for Islamic Banks and Financial Institutions (CIBAFI) is an international non-profit organization established in 2001 by the Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) and a number of leading Islamic financial institutions (IFIs). CIBAFI is affiliated to the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC).


With over 130 members from more than 30 jurisdictions worldwide, CIBAFI is recognized as a key institution in the international Islamic finance architecture. CIBAFI is on a mission to support IFSI growth by providing specific activities and initiatives that capitalize on existing opportunities while preserving the value proposition of Islamic finance. It has 4 strategic objectives: advocacy of Islamic finance values and related policies and regulations, sustainability and innovation integration, industry research and analysis, and professional development.


Participation Banks Association of Turkey (TKBB) is a member of CIBAFI.
