The Council of Banking Associations of Turkiye States (CBATS) was established in Istanbul on November 4, 2022 to improve cooperation among member banking associations, to develop the banking sector by accurately assessing the demands of bankers and business people, to produce positive outputs for the real sector and national economies, and to share experiences by discussing issues and solutions related to the sector.
The Participation Banks Association of Turkiye (TKBB) is a member of the Council and other member Associations are listed below.

- Association of Banks of the Republic of Kazakhstan
- Union of Banks of Kyrgyzstan (UBK)
- Union of Banks of Uzbekistan (UBA)
The Banks Association of Georgia, the Banks Association of Northern Cyprus and the Hungarian Banks Association have observer status. The secretariat of the Council is run by the Banks Association of Turkiye (TBB).
