The Banking and Finance Academy of Uzbekistan (BFA) and the Participation Banks Association of Turkiye (TKBB) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on May 18, 2023 in Tashkent, Uzbekistan to develop the Islamic Finance sector.

The agreement aims to create an infrastructure for cooperation in the field of Islamic finance through the exchange of information and expertise to promote the growth of Islamic banking activities in Uzbekistan. According to the agreement, PBAT and BFA decided to work together to organize joint projects, summits, forums, conferences, seminars and other events related to developments in the field of Islamic banking and finance. The agreement also envisages joint training and on-the-job experience programs, capacity building, publishing activities, data access, technical support and mutual academic activities.
